Summary: Typed or shorthand versions of court case testimony mostly relating to land, insurance and bankruptcy cases between 1926 and 1927. These are in shorthand. A few earlier transcripts, 1912-1917, are typed copies. Highlights are a Martin Costello estate case that mentions several Tombstone mines, ca. 1900-1910, a case against James Hamilton for selling liquor in Douglas during prohibition, a case of Lobb vs. Avenenta about water irrigation rights on forty acres in Pinal County, and the bankruptcy of the Southern Arizona Motor Company, partly owned by Fred Ronstadt and C. Edgar Goyette. There is also a case contesting a homestead of Jane Wentworth, widow of Henry Wentworth with testimony from J. Rukin Jelks, Philip Contzen, and others.

Biographical note: Attorney, John W. Walker was born in Bloomington, Indiana, studied law until 1897, then studied shorthand reporting in Washington, D. C. He came to Tombstone in 1903, was official court reporter in Tombstone while it was the county seat of Cochise County and in 1917 moved to Tucson where he was clerk under U. S.
